This 3 zl stamp recognizes the Visegrad Group (Grupa Wyszehradzka), an alliance of 4 central European states – the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia.  Its purpose is mutual cooperation in accomplishing their integration into the European Community.  The group was founded in 1991 and to date all have developed relatively free market economies.  The stamp depicts 2 hands with raised fingers, while the first day cover cachet shows a digital representation of the European Union.
